look guys, before you read this post..you might want to rethink it. you can, feel free. but i did come across a little strong and i am sorry. this is my opinion tho. i have realized i have a ‘passion’ for writing lately so i’m trying to ‘make up for lost time’ you could say. enjoy if you do. 🙂
Are you a Christian?
Then LIVE UP TO IT.
So much has happened in the United States this past week.
From Trump winning the election, to people revolting because of it, to some Hollywood stars supposedly leaving (bye Miley Cyrus, can’t say I’m that sad to see you go. Sorry), to reporters saying Clinton should have won, etc. etc. etc. etc.
Could I go on? Yes, yes I could. (Zootopia anyone? :))
Okay, enough with the jokes. I like to keep it light and supposedly ‘fun’ when I blog but I’m sad to say this post will not be much of that.
So, ARE you a Christian?
Then you had better LIVE UP TO IT.
Know everything I listed above about what’s going on?
Yeah? Well, I’m 100% sure Christians are right in the middle of that, having their say too.
Of course, they should be. They are Americans too. They’re part of this country. But they should stand out from the rest. They should be having the RIGHT say. They should be saying nice(er) things. Not things to stir up more turmoil and revolts. But things of peace.
Christians should spread the light of Jesus, not say things that will make it worse.
Hello!!!!! I myself didn’t want Hillary to win just because…well, yeah. I don’t love Trump obviously, and I haven’t heard every little last thing he’s said about people, but I did hope he would win.
Nothing against those who voted for Hillary tho. It’s a free country.
See, the thing is is that Nov. 8 I was kinda ‘stressed’ or worried like oh dear who’s gonna win like there was something on my heart etc. then I learned that he had won and I was kinda relieved but in the end, I still felt how I had felt all day.
Then I realized that I shouldn’t have been worried. I should have prayed and let it be. I know, I know, we don’t even live in the States. But I am an American too…I still care. All my family members live there. It could (greatly) affect them, and maybe even us too, what with going back to visit etc.
I was worried. That something would ‘go wrong’. That the ‘wrong person’ would win. I don’t want to start a debate or anything, just saying. Tho there is no ‘wrong person’ or ‘right person’, cause we’re allllll sinners, y’all.
But all this stupidity, all this revolting and arguing and being mad. Not sure many people like it except for those who are doing it because they don’t like Trump.
But I don’t see people doing anything. Just sharing stuff on FB about revolts and what they think and what Trump said etc.
It makes me mad.
So, you say you’re a Christian?
NOW is the time to live up to it.
When the country is in ‘difficulty’. (and the best way out of difficulty is thru it. Let’s go thru it praying.)
I was thinking the other day about what our country used to be.
What our founding fathers wanted it to be.
The provisions they made so that our country would prosper and become great.
Become a country that served God. That acknowledged Him as how they were as great as they are (were).
Just like Queen Victoria when she gave the Bible to an African chief when he asked what the key was to Britain’s greatness.
People here think the US is so great.
So wonderful.
And, truly, it is.
But I had a friend in school when we lived in Campinas that said that her dream was to go to Disney World. We were in English class and I remember to this day saying, ‘’wow, Isabella, that is great. The US is so cool and I’m so glad that you want to go there. But you’re missing the bigger picture. You think the US is ‘perfect’, at least compared to Brazil. But it’s not. It has its flaws. People steal and kill there too. It’s just as bad as Brazil, if not worse sometimes. (and adding some stuff on now :)) because sinners run the US and sinners run Brazil too.’’ And she just looked at me and got so mad. Like, she didn’t get it. How was I doing this to her? To ‘crush her dreams’?!?! no, of course not! I wanted her to fully know what it was like. Because I lived there for part of my life. I knew what it was like.
Now, you could say I’m a ‘proud American’. And I am. But sometimes, like now, I am not proud of my country.
How far have we come?! Look at what America is now, today.
We        are              broken
And it’s only getting worse.
I don’t know how to end this post.
Except to say…
RISE UP. BE CHRIST TO THE BROKEN, TO THE LOST. WHAT YOU DO FOR THE LEAST OF THESE, YOU DO FOR HIM. BECAUSE IF WE FIGHT BACK, DISAGREE BACK, CALL NAMES TOO……
WE ARE NOT SHOWING THE LOVE OF CHRIST.
WE ARE SHOWING PEOPLE THAT GOD IS ‘NOT LOVE’. THAT GOD REALLY DOESN’T CHANGE PEOPLE.
AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT I KNOW THAT I DON’T WANT THAT TO BE THE MESSAGE THAT I DISPLAY. THAT PEOPLE SEE ABOUT ME.
I WANT TO BE CHRIST TO THE LEAST OF THESE.
If you want, I’ll be here. Wanting and waiting for you to join me. But I’mma start now, cause there isn’t a second to lose.
